Fully Accessible Course Template (Universal Design Ready)

As a Digital Learning Designer who specialises in accessibility, I would love to see Genially introduce a course template that is fully aligned with accessibility standards from the ground up. Specifically, I’m suggesting a course template designed using Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles that is pre-configured to meet the needs of learners who are:
Hearing impaired
Vision impaired
Neurodiverse
Dyslexic
Cognitively diverse
Using assistive technology
Key Features I’d Love to See:
All images already contain alt text or are marked as decorative where appropriate.
Decorative visuals and icons are pre-tagged correctly to avoid noise for screen readers.
Embedded buttons for video transcripts on every video slide.
Built-in options for high contrast colour palettes and readable font pairings.
Support for keyboard-only navigation and clear focus states.
Logical reading order and structured headings in all layouts.
Visuals designed to reduce cognitive overload, with clear layouts and no flashing/animated distractions.
Why This Matters (Data & Impact):
The European Accessibility Act (coming into force in June 2025) will require digital products, including eLearning, to be fully accessible.
Over 15% of the global population lives with a disability (WHO, 2023).
In the EU alone, there are approximately 87 million people with disabilities.
Many digital learning creators lack the technical know-how to make content fully accessible, even with the best intentions. A ready-made, accessible template would empower thousands of users to create inclusive content without the risk of exclusion or non-compliance.
Accessible design benefits everyone, not just people with disabilities. Clearer content, better navigation, and flexible media support improved learning outcomes for all learners.
This kind of template would not only be incredibly valuable to users like me, but it would also showcase Genially as a leader in inclusive design, ahead of the curve with both compliance and innovation.
